Anyone else acutely aware of every clogged pore, pimple, or dark spot on their face right now? After reading countless articles about why now is the time to experiment with new beauty products, to prioritize self-care and to cleanse our homes of chemicals and ingredients that aren't serving us, I decided to re-evaluate my skincare regimen. Not to mention, my not-so-casual uptick in running, and sweaty Sculpt Society living room cardio dance sessions between emails and never-ending Zoom calls had left my skin dull and bumpy. I have always been fairly consistent with sticking to "clean" brands when it comes to food and skincare, but until recently, I wasn't paying as close attention to ingredients beyond being "clean." For me, this meant finally taking products out of my skincare regiment that included ingredients my digestive system doesn't tolerate well, in my case, dairy, eggs, etc. While I occasionally allow myself a piece of cheese or something chocolatey, I do my best to stick to a vegan and gluten free diet, about 80% of the time. And when I do - I without a doubt look and feel my best. So here we are, a completely revamped routine that is simple and addresses my specific needs, including solving for dull, clogged, and dehydrated sensitive skin. You will see that I like to keep the number of brands that I use to minimum, and that is for two reasons. One, because many brands formulate products to work well together, and I like to honor that! And 2) because Sunday Riley, Drunk Elephant, and Goop have all been consistently transparent about their formulas. Each brand has a stellar vegan product offering, and many of these products are also gluten free, fragrance free, and cruelty free. AM ROUTINE |
